Long, light and strong.
Orion’s strongest sword, which has undergone destructive evolution.
Compared to Acteon Magnum EX, it is longer (7’9″ → 7’11”) and lighter (187g → 177g), and the compatible lure range has been increased from 6oz to 10oz. Improved lifting power has also been proven in field tests. Furthermore, it is worth noting that the grip, which is the key to casting and operation, inherits the size and shape of the Acteon Magnum EX, which is optimized for Giant Bait’s Accuracy Cast and Eight Trap® fishing methods, so all blank performance is maintained. The point is that it is evolving.
The main material of the blank is TORAYCA® T1100G, a high-modulus carbon that boasts the world’s highest strength. It combines strength and lightness, tension and tenacity, and is the source of tremendous repulsive force. And the flavor from the tip to the berry is made with highly flexible 24 ton carbon. The butt side is reinforced with 40 ton carbon, which provides a sharp feel of operation, and Quattro woven cloth, which strongly suppresses twisting. The combination of these has created a crisp and lightweight feel that does not feel like a giant bait rod, despite its length of 7 feet 11 inches. It has supple strength and strong resilience hidden within.
Length x lightness x strength… each one is not independent but intertwined in multiple layers, giving the angler an enormous advantage.
Take giant baits, which often end up just being chased, a little farther than before. All you have to do is be conscious of putting it on the rod without using any force, and the tremendous repulsive force hidden in the 7’11” shaft will send the ultra-heavy weight bait far away. Thanks to its strong bending and return, as well as its light weight, You can keep throwing giant baits all day long because you can do long casts with less strain on your body. This is the golden rule for getting results with giant baits.
In addition, in giant baiting, where the bait is landed far ahead of the target and the course of retrieval is often determined by line mending, it is significant that the adjustment range for mending is expanded even a little. Considering that you do it almost every cast, it’s great that you can practice the action easily and quickly.
Then, set the Trump Eight Trap® as far away from the boat as possible. What’s more, it makes the physically demanding action of holding the grip end of a long rod and swinging it around quickly with one hand a little easier. By being able to fine-tune the course and speed of the lure by watching the bass’ reaction while giving the giant bait a sharp turn, you will be able to catch fish that you couldn’t catch before. When it comes to bites, it follows the fish flexibly and catches them without repelling them. Orion’s lifting power, which allows it to twist and float monsters’ violent charges, is the strongest.
Throne means throne. For monster hunters aiming for the throne, that is, the lake record, the Japanese record, and even the world record. And of course, to grab the throne of personal record that every angler continues to challenge. Sloan is a monster hunting special suitable for giant bait anglers who continue to fight to reach the top of their game. This is our answer.

Sloane told by Toshifumi Kikumoto
Compared to the many giant bait rods out there, some might say that this rod is too light or too bendy. But all because he keeps throwing Balam 300 all day long. In fact, the Sloan is a rod that has the potential to go far beyond imagination, with features that are “light but strong” and “bends but has great return force”.
Of particular note is the fact that it is 2 inches longer and approximately 10g lighter than the Acteon Magnum EX.
First of all, the true purpose of increasing the length is not only to pursue even longer cast performance. Even if it is just 2 inches, the significance of expanding the width of line mending is enormous. When bass prey, they use walls such as rocks or bridge piers to create a mentality of “I’ve cornered them!”, so the key is to trace the lure so tight that it hits the wall. So, of course, a long rod is more advantageous.
In such extreme style bass fishing, there is a fine line between being able to take down a monster or making a mistake. Considering that the larger the lure, the more likely it is to be abandoned by bass, you want to swim the giant bait closer to the wall, even if it’s just 1cm. What plays an infinitely large role in filling that small difference is the performance of the rod.
Even in the last trick, the eight trap, the length is not just for doing it at a distance from the boat. When checking the chase of the bass during retrieval and transitioning to the eight trap, it is strictly prohibited to step on the electric, even if the distance between the boat and the wall becomes large. The importance of leading Balam as close to the wall as possible and setting eight traps tightly against the wall. That’s why we made it long.
Casting – high speed retrieval – barram fishing called eight trap. Honestly, it’s hard work. Therefore, in order to reduce fatigue as much as possible, it was an absolute challenge to make it longer and at the same time keep the weight to at least the same as Acteon Magnum EX. However, Sloan was able to achieve a weight reduction that far exceeded his expectations. Needless to say, this is not a small difference.

Sloan as told by Kazuya Shimada
To the question “What is the best rod for handling Balam 300?”, the answer so far has been “Hercules Acteon Magnum EX”. As you all know, since the development of Balam, we have a track record of killing many monsters with this rod. But the time has finally come for that answer to change.
Acteon Magnum EX to Sloan. There are many evolutions, but the one that I feel is the most different is lifting power. On a fishing trip that also served as a strength test, I was able to pull out a Rokumaru that weighed over 4kg. I feel overwhelming strength. Upgrading Rokmal wasn’t an option until we got Thrawn.
What was even more surprising was the second part of the strength test, when we went fishing to Ishigaki Island aiming for GT (Giant Trevally) to prove Sloan’s power. Tremendous lifting power that lifts a 25kg GT while leaving plenty of power in the bat.
In the fight with the GT, my body screamed first (lol), but what are the limits of this rod…I don’t think there is any cause for concern even in a battle with a world record monster bass. I can definitely say that.
With its extraordinary power, it carries Balaam to faraway places on its rod. Also, although it is surprisingly light and flexible for a giant bait rod, the maximum weight is 10oz (although I feel like it can go a long way…), so you can throw the 6oz class Balam 300 with plenty of energy left. Therefore, the accuracy of casting will increase, and as you get used to it, you may sometimes forget that you are casting giant bait. A rod that destroys the conventional wisdom of giant bait rods. That’s Sloan. strongest!
