Microcast Spool 16SCP7020RI (The spool rim level is 2.0mm)

This is light and shallow spool compatible with 16 Scorpion 70/71 series, CURADO 70/71 seri es.
It will help you cast lightweight lures.

The shallow groove model MicrocastSpool 16SCP7020RI is recommended for fishing such as driving trout fishing on mainstreams and mountain streams and light rigs on bass fishing.
In addition, salt is also supported, so it is recommended for black sea bream, light rock, and egging.

The medium groove model MicrocastSpool 16SCP7040RI is recommended for small to medium-sized crank baits, vibrations, spinner baits, and other light Texas, Zikarig, and rubber jigs ranging from 3.5 to 10 grams.
This spool is equipped with a brake disc on the spool to accommodate the magnetic brake.
The magnetic brake can be adjusted from the outside using an external dial for SVS Infinity.
When using with a centrifugal brake, transplant the genuine SVS Infinity.

Precautions for use

Top: Genuine Spool Bottom: Microcast Spool
When the spool is assembled in the reel, the spool slightly moves toward the handle, but it is not defective because it is centered according to the genuine spool.

When summing with a spool rim, anodizing may occur due to friction.
In particular, perform summing on the spool surface of the spool.
When winding a line on the spool, applying too much tension can cause damage.
When winding a stretched line such as a nylon line, use it with a light tension.

Attaching the magnetic brake

With the 16 Scorpion 70, the shape of the fixing bolt in the center of the brake dial is the hex lobe (star) T10 size.
Use a hex wrench or other tool to damage the screw hole.

Adjust the magnet brake so that it does not touch the spool when the external dial is set to 6.
Shimano Reel’s external dial is made for SVS Infinity to function smoothly, but of course it does not take into account the function of the Avail magnetic brake.
For this reason, even when adjusted correctly, the brake will not work when the brake scale is 1 or 2, but this is not a malfunction.
Adjust the brakes within the effective range.
When attaching to the reel unit, the screw of the magnet fixing part touches the bearing receiver when it is fully screwed in and cannot be installed.
Also, even when installed normally, the magnet fixing part cannot be screwed in all the way.

Remove the side cover from the reel unit, and remove the fixing bolts attached to the three locations on the frame B bracket assembly.

Remove the fixing bolt at the center of the dial, and remove the brake dial and brake pipe gear.
Since the tab of the brake pipe gear is caught by the spiral cut, if it does not come off, turn it to the left and right to remove the brake pipe gear.

There are two tabs inside the magnetic brake. Insert the tab into the frame holder B and screw it. Screw in all the way.

Attach the dial so that 4 on the external dial is at the position shown in the photo.
At this point, fix the dial with the fixing bolt.

Once you have reached this point, you can simply assemble it.
Fix the 3 parts of the frame B bracket assembly with fixing bolts.

After assembling, adjust the brake.
Adjust the mechanical brake with the external dial set to 1.
The mechanical brake is adjusted so that it is slightly loosened from where it does not rattle from side to side with the spool installed.

When you have finished adjusting the mechanical brake, set the external dial to 6.
If the brake contacts the spool at this point, tighten the brake magnet and move it away from the spool.

If it does not touch, loosen the magnet until it touches it and bring it closer to the spool.

In the case of 16 Scorpion 70 series, the standard condition is that the magnet part is removed and then screwed in 6 turns and 1/8.

* The photo uses 15 Aldebaran 50 and MicrocastSpool ALD1518TR so that the positional relationship between the brake and the spool is easy to understand.
Imagine this condition and adjust the brakes.
