The Daiwa Steez EX is a US Direct Market (USDM) offering based off of the original Daiwa Steez. Produced for the US market from 2012-2015, they feature a larger frame in every reel except for the Steez EX 100HSL which is based on the old Steez frame. The reel is still made of Magnesium. They all feature a 34mm OD A7075 aluminum alloy spool for improved performance, stronger drag than the original Steez, a clicking drag and cast control and swept handles. The 6.3 reel features gold trim, the 7.1 black, and the 7.9 purple. Reels with an “L” designate left hand retrieve models.
