In 2011 Daiwa released a high speed model of the Certate, the Certate Hi Gear Custom. The reel featured slightly longer handles and three more bearings over the standard models. Every reel features a faster gearbox than the original of the same size. The 2004 has a 1000 sized body and the 2508 has a 3000 sized body. The 2004 has an I-Shape knob, the 2506 a T-Shape and the 2508 and 3012 a large T-Shape.
