Shimano again refreshed the Curado lineup in 2011 bringing us the Curado G series. The reels form is based on the Caenan. The G series has a reduced weight from the E series, but also features less bearings. The frame is aluminum while the sideplates are graphite. The drag star is now graphite instead of aluminum. The series has expanded with a 6.5:1 mid ratio in both left and right retrieve while the 5.5:1 low speed retrieve is still relegated to only right handed retrieve.
