In 2008 Shimano did a ground up rework of the Curado line and introduced the all new E series. The 200E is smaller than the old 100D while maintaining the 200 size line capacity. The weight was dropped by 2.2oz overall from the D series. The reel is equipped with Dartanium drag, Magnumlite Spool, and HEG gearing. Only the right hand (200) retrieve is available in the low speed 5.0 ratio.
